Engine Calibration Manager

Location: Aurora, Colorado

Chronos Consulting’s client is an international B2B vehicle testing services leader for the study, development, and application of technologies for motor vehicle testing, diagnostics, repair, technician training, and information management. We are seeking a hands-on individual with a passion for the Automotive industry and a desire to grow your career in calibration and testing. You will manage a small team and be responsible for calibration and repairs in an emissions testing laboratory for dynamometers, emissions analyzers, and specialty exhaust sampling equipment. This facility is based in Aurora, Colorado with relocation assistance offered.

The Role:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will:
 Maintain up-to-date calibrations and preventative maintenance, including identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions and working with manufacturers or field reps to procure information on replacement parts.
 Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions, and reassemble and test equipment following repairs.
 Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment, write reports or record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, or specifications to assist engineers, and follow documented procedures to properly execute calibration of instrumentation equipment.
 Perform data quality checks on calibrated instrumentation, procure parts or record data on testing inventory and related documentation, and set up data channel configurations for the instrumentation equipment.
 Provide consulting services, customer support, and education.
 Oversee team development, coaching, mentoring, and staff training to improve the safety of the operation.
 10% travel within the Midwest.

The Requirements:
 Technical education required (Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred) coupled with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in emissions testing and sampling technology (gasoline and diesel), calibration, and repair.
 Proficient in diagnosing test operation problems, leading teams to implement effective solutions, and interpreting data and troubleshooting activities.

 Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
 Motivated to coach, mentor, and support technicians and engineers.
 Budget consciousness, team player, problem solving abilities, effective communication and time management skills.
 Eager to work in a hands-on, fast-paced, and results-oriented environment.
