Job Description
- Provide Specialist Technical Support, advice and QC on the geophysical aspects of ongoing and new projects in the Group, particularly with respect to the application of quantitative interpretation.
- Carry out and provide support in seismic acoustic and elastic inversion, Amplitude-versus-Offset (AVO), attribute analysis, depth conversion and special processing techniques.
- Promote modern work procedures and QC the interpretation work of junior colleagues.
- Mentor, coach and train junior colleagues in seismic quantitative interpretation techniques, work flows and best practices.
- Provide advice and recommendations on introduction and use of new seismic related technologies and work practices.
- Keep abreast of new industry related developments in the geophysical field, through participation in conferences and other relevant forums.
- Participate in the technical validation of the geophysical aspects of new projects and work programs.
- Effectively communicate technical results of evaluations and studies to functional management, both written and verbally.
- Provide advice and support on geophysical matters to the Data Base Management group.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor degree in Geoscience, preferably MSc or higher with a strong focus on Geophysics.
- Between 5 and 8 years experience in geophysics.
- Good communication and relationship skills, both inside and outside the company
- Strong technical skills on geophysical special studies subjects.
- Demonstrable experience from working in a variety of sedimentary basins and tectonic settings.
- Good coordination and supervisory abilities to interact with junior colleagues and other EP disciplines.
- Ability to be a proactive self-starter, with the capacity to take initiative and to propose the introduction of new work practices and new technologies.
- Working knowledge in English is essential.
