International Buyer based in Algeria

Location: Hassi Messaoud

28days on- 28 days off rotation

The International Buyer will be involved in all facets of the procurement process. As such the candidate will work closely with various departments within the organization (Ops, Engineering, Drilling, Logistics, Warehouse) as well as the normal external contacts (Vendors, Service Suppliers, Freight Forwarders, etc). Much of the procurement process is controlled under Algerian regulations and requires a sealed bid tender approach.

List of activities:

Review incoming purchase requisitions to ensure a suitable level of detail to commence procurement activities, and work with originating department if                              additional info is required

Identify potential vendors or service providers

Prepare tenders for bidding process and work with Contracts personnel to develop large scale tenders

Consult with requesting departments on deviations from original specifications proposed by vendors

Negotiate terms and conditions of purchases

Track procurement process status via the electronic procurement system

Advise Logistics Group of purchase orders raised and associated priority

Assist Logistics with any vendor related issues (ie invoice non-conformity, damaged or missing materials, delays in delivery, etc)

Provide educational assistance in development of national staff procurement personnel

Make periodic trips to the field to work through details of procurement issues
