They are the recognised global authority on onshore and offshore wind power and also serve the wave, tidal and solar sectors. Reports to. Head of Group - Certification China Key Purpose of the role. As part of an interdisciplinary team, prepare numerical models by Finite Element Method (FEM), perform and report strength calculations for nacelle covers and spinners in wind turbines for certification. The work will be performed in close cooperation with the Certification Head Office in Hamburg, Germany.
Job Description
Review and analyse the design documentation submitted by wind turbine developers. Work with state of the art software tools to prepare the FEM models, assessment of load bearing capacity and bearing utilization of nacelle covers and spinners in wind turbines by complete parallel computation. Perform quality checks of own performed calculations. Reporting performed analysis, results and conclusions in written form. Communication and cooperation with Expert in charge and Project Leader in Head Office. Make an important contribution to the further development of the utilization of renewable energy sources.
Job Qualifications
Complete successful on the job training at the Head Office in Hamburg (Germany). Improve the independent manner of working with a high degree of self responsibilities. Yearly targets will be discussed and captured during appraisal interviews. Essential knowledge, skills and experience. Masters in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with above average degree and skills in FEA and fatigue analysis. Work experience in industry Minimum 3 years work experience in the strength calculation of nacelle covers and spinners or similar structures made of FRP in Wind Turbines with Finite Element Method. Solid command of analysis software (RFEM, ANSYS Structural/Mechanical, RSTAB and others) as well as MS Office. Very good command of English, both written and oral communication. Ability to work under pressure with high level of personal responsibility. Team spirit and flexibility. Work self-reliance to ensure high quality results.
