The first records of Carnival festivities in the country date back to 1723, introduced by the Portuguese people.

Nowadays, there is also a more structured side of it. No less colourful & spectacular, the Samba Parade in Rio has been described as the greatest show on earth !

As in the streets or the ‘Sambadrome”, companies and individuals pay large sums for the best views. The corporate hospitality at the Samba Parade is very popular amongst large corporations. People support one or other of the Schools, which generally bring as many as 5000 participants & 8 large & beautifully decorated floats. A team of judges mark each school. Competition and rivalry is fierce between them and their supporters, guaranteeing an incredible spectacle with a real edge to the atmosphere through out day & night.

Turning a ‘party’ into competition says much about the competitive nature of the people. That´s why Chronos is present to take its place this summer in Carnival, which is much more than a party, it is a huge part of the cultural identity of Brazil & Brazilians
