Mechanical Engineer – London, SW1A

This is a permanent full time role (working 40 hours per week) and on offer will be a competitive salary. This role will report into the Supervisor.

The main duties and responsibilities are:
A role has become available on a prestigious government facilities management contract for a mechanical engineer. The successful candidate will be required to have proven previous experience of planned preventative and reactive maintenance and will be required to perform works on a range of systems, including plumbing, air conditioning, building fabric and mechanical systems. Electrical experience would be of benefit but is not a priority.
The successful engineer will be site based, covering one very large, Grade II* listed government office building in Central London. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, working either 8am to 5pm or 7am to 4pm. The main responsibilities will include effectively performing maintenance of a range of assets, through following a PPM schedule and ensuring compliance in a flexible and efficient manner. There is also a requirement to manage any reactive tasks that get raised, from diagnosis through to sourcing parts and on to completion.
Working as part of a wider engineering team, there will be a requirement for the successful candidate to be flexible and provide support in various areas when requested.

17th Edition Test & Inspection (of benefit but not essential)
City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ in plumbing preferable
City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ in mechanical engineering
Knowledge and previous experience of building services
Ability to act on own initiative
Full Clean Driving licence
Ability to work with different people
Be practical and demonstrate good common sense
Currently have Government Issued CTC clearance/be able to gain CTC clearance if not currently possessed
